Default Weld in rockers

has anyone does this? my passanger side rocker is pretty much fully rotted out from rust and in order for me to pass inspection places are telling me i needa get it fixed. so could any1 fill me in on how i would go about doing this or does anyone have a write up on it or has any1 seen one? thanks.

im willing to do anything that will allow me to pass inspection. i just need a write up or directions on what to do so me and my buddy can have something to follow for when we do it.

This is all I could find quickly... I have seen better writeups though. I am pretty sure the lip he did on those ones arent necessary though.

ok thanks. thing is for him his were just damaged from offroading from what i understand from his write up my passanger side is legit rotted out and my drivers side is just damaged like his. idk if that would have a big impact on it or not, if you can find other write ups itd be greatly appreciated. ill get some pics of my rotted out ones up as soon as i can for you guys.

I dont think it really makes a difference if it rusted out or damaged. Just cut them out and replace it with box steel.

ok cool, here is a few pics of my rockers and how rotted out they actually are. hopefully this will help for anymore advice.

Wow, someone with even less rockers than me!

Well you will have less cutting because most of it is already gone...

I will be doing this on mine soon, I just have to find a second matching piece (I have one piece of 2X6 and one piece of 2X4)- I work at a steel place and have my pick out of the scrap bins, but still gotta find a matching set!

how do you plan on going about this? id like to have as many write up or ideas, suggestions, thoughts, opinons on how to do this as possible so we can weigh out all our options and take the best most efficient route in doing it.
