Am about to reinstall a rear bumper that has vibrated its way to destroying a couple of the nutzerts. From the science, Lock Washers are a waste of time and money, and actually SPEED up the loosening process.

I had to replace the nutzerts on my rear struts 'cause they kept loosening up and breaking the bolts. Knocked out the nutzerts but could only get ahold of nyloc locknuts at the time (I was in Mexico), haven't had to touch them since!

 

Then again is pretty convincing!

 

I work in industrial maintenance and have never had an issue with lock washers or nylock nuts coming loose no matter what grade. Same on my rig.
