Default TSL/SXs or TSLs

Im stuck on either a TSL or TSL/SX for my next tire. What are yalls thoughts/experiences with these tire on/off road? Im also stuck on two sizes one being 36x12.50r15 the other being 30x11.50r15. What are your thoughts on these? I plan on being in the mud sand and on the blacktop mostly.

Why in the heck are you stuck on 2 VERY different sizes?

Also, I hate tsl's. Were no good in the rocks and awful on the pavement. Its not how loud they were and how fast they wore, its the fact they couldn't remotely balance and would vibrate my jeep to pieces.

I had a feeling someone would ask that lol. Reason being is I cant decide if I want to go thru the trouble of cutting the fenders to make 36s fit with only 2in of lift but if someone can fully talk me into it lol I will. I kinda want the 36s tho. Im not to worried about tread wear as I only drive 10miles a day and maybe 20 to the trails here in town.

there is a lot more to running 36's than trimming your fenders.

What else am I missing then? I plan on swapping the 8.25 rear end in as well as regearing to 4.88s with Aussie lockers front and rear.

i don't think the OP wheels it, so really he could get away with just regearing, but with 36" tires (super swampers nonetheless) regearing will me a MUST, scratch that, i just read his post. but i would not suggest 36's on a stock dana 30 locked

^ He speaks the truth

I would trim , regear , bumpstop and run 33's. not 36's

I also had TSL radials before they were great on trails that were sloppy on rocks they chunked pretty bad, they wore kinda quick , and on wet roads they got more traction going sideways then forward. Now if I was ever to run Another swamper it would be an iroc and I would have it Siped.

36s and a locked Dana 30 is a formula for disaster.

At that tire size you should be running a polished 30 with at least some chromos and maybe a truss.

Your right I dont wheel it alot right now cuz I havent had the time or the capability to. Thats why Im leaning towards 36s instead of 30s again.Whats wrong with running the dana 30 Ik a few guys around here that run it granted its not locked but non the less its run with 35-36s. Would trussing the axle any help make it possible to run it locked?

I plan on upgrading the axle shafts at least when I regear

if you want to run it locked with 36's i would say that chromoly shafts are more needed than a truss, another ? what year is your dana 30 out of? darn it, you keep posting while i'm typing lol. but yes a truss will help.

I wouldn't run anything over 35's on a D30/8.25 I would be looking at building D44's or D60's

I just noticed you are planning on front and rear lunch box lockers. I can tell you they will grenade taking out the ring and pinion with large tires I've had it happen to me on 35's

I would look into full case lockers. First and foremost for anything over 33" tall. I really think you need to evaluate what you plan on doing as far as wheeling is concerned. Since you don't wheel much 36's Are not needed is this a keeping up with jones's mod ? You are really under estimating what needs to be done to properly run 36" tires.
