Try relocating your IAT (intake air temp) sensor. It is currently on top of the hot aluminum intake plenum. Remove it from there put a 1/4"NPT (u think that's the size) plug in the hole. Drill a hole in your in your intake tube and install the sensor. I picked up 1mpg with this alone and I am on 35's w/ 4.88 gears and a 5 speed 2000.

MPG update.

Running 32's stock gearing, 40psi.

Drove 1.5hrs to off-road event. Wheeled all day from 11am-5pm. Drove 1.5hrs home.

14.86mpg! Now that's pretty good. Drove for two more days on same tank.

Clean the injectors clean everything! When your motors working perfect you'll notice that when it's running perfect you'll do better with gas !

Quote: Really???? I have an auto. It seems when ever I ran like 70mph for a couple days, she used more gas. I'll try it.lol.
Sounds like you may have a tranny or torque converter slippage problem. My Jeep does the same thing but it has 271K+ miles on it and I know my tranny is getting worn out after years of 4wheeling and lots of miles. It guzzles gas in town no matter what but as long as I keep it at 65-70mph on the highway it gets 18 mpg. Anything over that at the mpg rapidly drops off. I am also on 33s with 4.56 gears and locked front and rear. I'm pretty happy with that mileage for the setup I am running. I beat up the body a lot but I am a **** about keeping the drivetrain healthy, clean and tuned up.
