I have a question I believe my jeep came with a 231 in it because it has a 4lo selection but when I put it in that it just acts like its in neutral I looked at my Tcase an it says np242 and has some yellow writing so I'm thinking it had came from JY any thoughts?

That's normal for an NP242. If you want to find out what your Jeep came with go here http://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/j...ull&category=U and request the build sheet.

You likely just need to get underneath and adjust the shifter linkage. Tons of writeups on here for that

Simple way is to get under there and see the tag.... It'll tell you if it's a 231 or 242
