So it decided to rain here in San Diego. I went out and got my buddy to get his old subi put and hit up some trails. We had a ton of fun lots of mud and I have to say the red letter grabbers are awesome! After jumping the subi a few times and blowing the front tire we decided it was time to go home. On the way back down the trail. I damn near killed a rider on a super moto. I came around a blind corner right as he came hauling around it side ways. All I can say is thank god for mud I slid just enough to clear him I think his plastics just clipped my fender. It was as close of a call I have had next to that time a guy in a quad stuck his quad under my jeep one time.anyone had any experiences like this? Pictures to come when my internets not messed up

I ****ing hate bikes and atv's and utv's on the trails around here. On the 1 lane wide shelf road you travel to get to the trail heads those ****s think they rule the place and go 50-60 on a road with a 10mph speed limit I've almost had accidents with them several times. Last year a guy on a Utv drove off the road down a 40' cliff to miss me cause he was doing atleast 45 around a blind curve. And I had no area to move and 15 jeeps with me. The guy was lucky we didn't meet around the next bend with a 300' cliff
But that's partially why I have this bumper also

I have a very sad sorry, my wife's uncle was in his jeep coming down a fire road, when others were coming up, he moved to the side to let them by, when the hill gave way, rolled like 10 times, he lost his life, his wife lived , but had like 20 facial surgeries because the rolled cage crushed her face. R.I.P. Gil all I can say is be careful on fire roads with cliffs

I've had a few collisions off road over the years. Hell last year in Ocala thanks to mud my JK met 2 other JK's at separate times.
An XJ in our group was doing a massive hill cliimb, and doing well. A JK was in line far behind, waiting. I was off to one side. We all watched the XJ goosin' his way up, so I went ahead and crossed the path of the waiting JK, I was gonna take a side pass. The XJ then looses traction, and comes barreling backwards towards me. I freak and punch it to get out of the way, my truck kicked sideways in the loose leaves/wet ground, and went sideways and I caught the other JK with my rear tire/his stock front bumper.
I will totally admit, I was in the wrong, and as an experienced wheeler, should have waited until the XJ was clear before crossing behind him. I'm man enough to admit, I was impatient and should not have proceeded behind him until the path was clear. We all laughed it off though, no harm no foul.
Same night but earlier, I was doing a hill climb, wet and muddy with ruts. Another JK (little experience) had done it just before me, got to the top, and parked. By the time I cleared the top, and the spotter being distracted, I was in such deep ruts they were guiding my direction, right into him. My TnT bumper found his stock rear, and did a nice mangle job of it. Again, blame can be put anywhere, but it doesn't matter so long as everyone is okay. Jeep parts can be replaced, lives can't.

A couple years ago I was headed up the canyon to Poole Powerplant (hydroelectric). The road is typically graded and wide enough for two vehicles but this was winter and it was covered in snow and ice and, because it's in a narrow canyon, the sides of the road were lined with varying depths of snow. As I rounded one of many blind turns I saw a Dodge crew-cab (I think it was a Powerwagon but the whole thing is kind of a blur) going way too fast. He panicked, I saw him sawing at the wheel, right-left-right-left. The result was an unrecoverable slide. Idiot. I veered into the snow bank on the right as he slid past me, his rear bumper missing me by inches. He slammed into the snow bank and immediately gunned it and took off down the road. I was in a 2002 Tahoe with snow tires but only 2wd. It took about 5 minutes to wiggle my way out, by then the guy in the Dodge was long gone. I saw the truck in town (small town) a couple days later but it was unoccupied. I thought it would be fun to wait for him but I got bored and cold after about 20 minutes, lol. When I came back, the truck was gone. Oh well.
