Default traded my XJ :(

Hey everyone traded my XJ for a 2002 WJ limited. Very sad to see her and all its character go for a soulless vehicle but I hope to add that back with time. Thanks fellow XJ owners for all the help the last 2 years.

Yeah its a v8, i was a little hesitant at first bc I was under the impression that it was not a reliable engine but Im starting to think that its not really the case. Has a few things wrong with it but nothing major and unlike my old rig it isn't rusting away. Why are you guys saying hope I got the V8, is the v6 that bad?

I6 btw. The 4.0 isn't bad, just everything around it. Cooling fan, transmission(awful), Dana 35, under powered. Can't pull much of anything with it that has wieght with out stressing the engine and killing the drivetrain

It's still a Cherokee! You'll find the WJ's are really nice. I wish I kept mine. Any plans or just keepin it stock?

You'll be back.

The WJs are nice. I have a '04 WJ and I just never could get used to mine. I just like driving a XJ too much. I bought a '87 XJ to replace the WJ as my daily driver. Old habits die hard.

Sometimes I want to sell my XJ and get a ZJ, WJ, or a first gen Liberty, then I'll run across a post like this and I always change my mind.

I had a 02 WJ limited. It was a great vehicle. But that hydro cooling fan went out. And it overheated blowing the head gasket.

When you vehicle starts overheating you ought to stop driving. I put a Taurus fan on mine

The wj is heavier then a xj you kinda need the v8 in them.As a daily driver i rather have a zj or wj they ride smoother to me then a xj does. The v8 you do have a dana 44a which is good and bad,The bad is the aftermarket for it is tiny vs a standard dana 44.But you can still build up a trail rig out of it if you want another one.

I did and turned it off. 4.7s are prone to cooling issues. It was also 120* outside during rush hour in bumper to bumper traffic in Dallas.

No, they are prone to hydro fan failure on 02-04 models. The 4.0 in general is prone to over heating issues.
