Hi everyone. I was digging around the junkyard yesterday and found a 98-01 xj with C 8.25 axle with limited slip. I'm thinking about buying the axle, rebuilding the LSD with this

, and then swapping over my brakes and putting it under my xj.
I know this will not act like a locker, but I was wondering if anyone has one and what they think of it.
The type of terrain I wheel is forest trails, logging roads, hills, and snow, and I thought an LSD out back would work great with the locker in front. Also, how much do you think a C 8.25 with LSD is worth? Thanks

A friend of mine stands by his 8.25 with his factory LSD and he's on 33s with tight and rocky wood trails. It would be great with a locker up front, I'd so go for it, not sure on the price but i'm sure it's not that much at the jy

Depending what kind of jy you got to I seen prices for. "Truck axles drum to drum" for 200-250. I recently picked one up there was one with the factory lsd and a 29 spline open differential both same price. But I told them it was a car axle

And it came out to 120 lol. The no slip locker came out to 437 with free shipping from jegs. That's the reason I went with the open style rear. Because the no slip for the trac loc case is about 100 bucks more.

But I do have a factory LSD and i like it, I plan to lock the front but leave it as a LSD in the rear, one option you can do it modify the LSD for more grip and less slip, the LSD comes with 3 grip plates on each side but if you add a 4th one to both sides, it can tighten it up. Just look up modifying a 8.8 LSD and its basically the same thing as ours minus the tension spring
