I don't know if you've checked out the Goodyear MT/Rs, but I got them and I love them. Tread wear is fantastic, and they seem to be awesome on every type of terrain.

I ran nexen mt for almost 3 years. One had a hole in the sidewall just kept air in it. They were decent off road as long as you stay away from mud. I'm pretty sure they are cheap.
