I wasn't sure where the appropriate place to post this was, so please someone move the thread if I'm in the wrong place.
Anyways, I'm kinda new here, made an intro thread, and now I wanna get some opinions from y'all.
I'm 21 and I'm in school so the build on my XJ is gonna be a definite budget build. I'm more than likely ordering a 3.5 RE lift this Friday so now I'm looking at tires. I've narrowed it down to a few tires that are in my price range
either the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's

the Dunlop Radial Mud Rover
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....m=105R5MROVOWL
or the General Grabber
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....m=105QR5GRABRL
Thoughts?

I like them too and I was kinda leaning towards them, but I've heard a lot of people say they're a nightmare to balance, and get thrown out of balance very easily.
so I'm kinda leaning towards the Generals now.

I'm a big fan of Cooper Discoverer tires. I had the Discoverer ST for the last 4 years. Love them. If you want something a little more aggressive, then try the Discoverer STT.

Check craigslist. Around here it seems there are always good deals on tires people didn't like, didn't want, couldn't afford the mpgs, ect.
I picked up a set of Uniroyal M/t's with ~50-60% tread on them recently for $100. My Dakota I got 235/75/r15s brand new, Firestone Destinations, for $150 because the guy decided last minute to go with different tires and didn't want to bother returning them.

Love my general grabber red letters. They have done amazing in both sand and mud, and shown better then expected street manners. Id highly recomend them, they are a 10ply tire so they are heavier then normal 31s, but I never worry about a sidewall puncture or a nail in the tire.
of the tires listed i would go duratrac. more of an inbetween MT and AT tire, its the lightest tire of the 3 so less rotating mass, and they will last longer on the street because they are somewhat more of an AT

thanks for the input guys. I will definitely look over craigslist. I'm mainly concerned with longevity and price. road manners don't really matter to me. I'm 21, loud and bumpy doesn't really bother me.
I'm trying to keep the cost of the tires right around the 600 range. I can mount and balance them myself at school.
I like what I'm hearing about the Durtracs, but they do seem like more of an A/T M/T hybrid. I had A/Ts on my YJ and really did not like them, so I wanna put a real M/T on the cherokee. so I'm probably looking at the Dunlops and the Generals.
the Generals are 19 lbs a piece heavier. how much of a dent do you think a 76 lb total difference will make in gas mileage and what not?
edit: I just found those Cooper Discoverer STT for like 165 a piece, so those are a definite possibility. anybody have any experience with them?

based on what y'all have said I'm probably gonna be deciding between the Duratracs and the Generals.

The Duratracs (4x33") were shipped to my house for $160 each + shipping, which totaled about $800.
It will be hard to find a set of large tires for $600 unless you go used and if you go used, you might even be able to find some 31-33 sized tires between $200-400.
The BFGoodrich Mud terrain KM2 tires are also another great tire to look into.
