one of my hard brake lines broke underneath (probably due to rust) and I honestly don't have time to mess with it anymore...
it's a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 166k miles on it. Auto, ABS, completely stock except for different wheels. Runs great, starts every time, auto shifts good, just recently did a major tune-up (belt, water pump, thermostat, hoses, coolant, oil, trans fluid, rear diff fluid, etc...) does drip oil, but i haven't had to add oil between changes. Brakes were just done on it...which included rotors, drums, pads, ALL brake hardware, brake cylinders. Spent about $400 on that alone!!
what should i ask for it??

there's no upgrades you can do that add to the private party value of your jeep
every dollar you put in is another dollar you'll never get back
its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it
I'd ask 300 above KBB.com value so you have some room to negotiate

Look, you just put a bunch of NEW brake parts on, a bunch of new, non-leaking stuff, therefore increasing the pressure in the lines - of course they're going to break if they're old and rusty.
Just replace the lines and you'll be good to go!
Don't sell it man.

Lol if he is wanting to sell his XJ over a brake line then how does he have that old BMW behind it ? Every part on that costs like 20x as much....
I used to own a Mazda Millenia Supercharged, IAC valve was $1,000 dealer only part !!
IAC valve on Cherokee is $30.

Wow. Get a flange tool and fix it. I did -all- of my brake lines in a day.. easy as hell. D: About to sell an XJ with 166k on the clock, good body, good mech. condition over that? I can't jive with that thought train.
