I tried an experiment.
With the stock cooling system, I removed the hood and drove 6 miles in soft sand. She ran 215 and reached 220.
Replaced the hood and swapped out the fan clutch for the ZJ V8. Same 6 miles, she ran 210. This clutch is a big help in maintaining steady temps in all conditions.
Seems to provide the most benefit when the Jeep is working the hardest and lacking airflow (slow speed/high RPM's).
NAPA part #272310 May not work with 3 row radiators.

It seems like it's going to work just like hood vents. You should try to bolt it to the engine and sit it inside the hood like a true shaker hood scoop. It would do nothing but be cool.

I would only do that if I could run a tube to the air box to make it functional lol but I mainly wanted this for extra cooling purposes on the engine and I'm not really into louvers, figured this would be different specialy since its kind of a challenge to have a unique xj lol

This is just what I have heard but they say turn it around so the hot air can get out and it will keep it cooler while moving slow cause hot air will rise out and still stay cool Just a thought
