I think he just exaggerated on the price. I mean only thing I can think of making it a 50k Jeep is he paid it off, lifted, top of line tires/wheels and put a gold plated LS1 engine in it. I honestly can't see 50k into a jeep unless it's a one off project built from the ground up with all top of the line products.

If he bought it new there is 30k... then it all depends if he did the work on every thing else him self or not

Fair enough, though being fullsize gave those a reason to have a V8. And they came with the 258.

I didnt exaggerate the price on his TJ. Parts for stuff is so damn expensive here its not funny. I was including the buy price of the Jeep in that though. $25k for a 10 year old manual TJ. New Wranglers start at 52K here
I would have to throw 10k at my XJ make it awesome.

6 inch long arms
33 swamper boggers with beadlock rims
Teraflex transfer case (which got destroyed)
ARB rear Air locker
Warn Front and back bumpers
Warn 9000LB winch

There's a guy on the build side that bagged a XJ. Its actually pretty sweet cuz its different. Just my 2¢
