My sister came over last week in her new E series Benz to visit. She said "Who's old Jeep is in your driveway?" (looking at my '98 Cherokee) I answered "It is mine that I'm building for use this winter in business up north" She proceeded to tell me that everyone would think I was poor since it was so old and dated looking, and that customers would not like it. Even after explaining that the Commander looks very similar, most of our customers up north drive these, and it is not old, she still was not the least convinced. I tried to ignore her, but the comments persisted until she was ready to leave and her car would not start! You could not have written a better script than this!!! I laughed and laughed and said "Hmmm. My $1,500 "old" Jeep will start every time, but your $70K Mercedes wont??" Yeah, that's what I want to drive, LOL.

Gave her a ride home in my '94 Honda Civic which was even "older".

i finally got a "damn is that a body lift or all suspension" today... ahahaha

another one that really got me laughing was when my old english teacher asked "is that your truck?" and i was like yahh its my jeep... yes... and she goes "oh well that isnt legal".... i asked her what makes her think that and she was like "just look at it, its not legal with the tires and the highness... plus look its falling apart look how low that is... (as she pointed to the pumpkin/front end components)" i then told her that it is a solid front axle and thats how they all are and she said "my car has an axle... i know cuz i got the left one replaced... look (she pointed to her libby) mine is right yours is broken.." i told her that hers was IFS and she said "no your wrong mine has axles"... so i just told her she was correct and left lol

and fyi she is a senile old lady who is so dumb that in high school when we did a "lockdown drill" (where we hide in the corner of the room away from windows and lock the door)... she locked the door and left it open..... lol and when they asked her wtf she was doing she was like what? i locked it thats what im supposed to do?

yeahhh.. educating the future... lol

To each there own I believe that the olds rockets are far better. An as for the 79 it was rare to even have an olds v8, if I am right most of them came with a chebby engine.plus that era was horse powerless. (:

It's cheaper to get power from a Chevy 350 than it is an Olds 350, and for someone on a tight budget like me, it was a no brainer.

Car came with the SBC anyway.

I got "You know your family might enjoy riding in a real station wagon" from a Subaru owner. "Sorry, I prefer 4wd systems that actually work on dirt!" As I drove off.
