I have some "idiot diesel boy" friends with 12v cummins rigs with less money in them than your Cherokee that would leave you with some soiled underpants. You've clearly not run into a good running diesel if you think a Cherokee is quick when racing them on the street. Don't get more wrong I love my Cherokee as much as the next guy, in the woods. But give it a break, even the best running 4.0 is slow as *****. Period. Unless the only thing you've driven is a 2.3 Cherokee.

 

OK short and simple, stupid freshman asked me this one

"Is your Jeep a diesel?"
and also "why is the freaking thing rattling so much?"
My quick response was "Shut up, its my cat, I need a new one...now get out"

 

To be fair, they did sell them with 4-cyl diesels, but idk what years or where they were sold. I like when people ask if my '01 has a 4.0 since they didn't sell them with gasoline 2.5s in the last year.

 

So I got another one talking to the guy at the auto parts store. I told him I had a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.0L and a 242 transfer case and I was looking for the t-case oil pump seal. So after he asks me if it was a Cherokee or Grand, he then proceeded to ask if it was four wheel drive! I don't remember why but I didn't have enough of a pause to say that two wheel drives don't have transfer cases. To top it all off, he proceeded to look up parts for an engine oil pump. I figured that out when he said he had a seal kit with a gasket and a few other parts that don't exist in the t-case oil pump.

 

I gots me 1 that made me mad. This years Sophomores (who really live up to educated morons which is what Sophomore means) are in my Auto class. Now they are in the entry level auto class. And unless it says Chevy has a V8 and can go tow a trailer they say its all $#!T.

So as class was starting today we were talking about whether a car was american or not. Dont as me why I wasnt really paying attention. Any way they started their normal bull about how Dodge sucks and Fords p**y $#!t and whatever else they started to say. But then the one who runs his mouth about everything decided to say that a lifted Chevy truck is the best off road vehicle period. His reasoning is that all you need to do is weight down the back and your good. And that things like Jeeps havent been worth anything since Before 1980.

I was speechless

 

Haha, a kid in a dodge neon tried to park in the same spot I do (I park where I do because there's a pile of gravel there and if I didn't park there it would remain empty) but there where no more spots today and he got stuck on the pile, the parking lot lady wouldn't let me tow him off either (against school policy to tow another student's vehicle) so pretty sure he had like 7 football players push it off hahaha

 

Hey Jeep is the legend of the world wars not Chevy! The word Jeep is known more anywhere in the world over any other name. So when Chevy says American Revolution on its ads, wrong! Jeep is the original American Revolution!!
