Default Taurus fan?

So I was talking to a guy today use own a Cherokee. And i told him I hooked my fan up to a switch bc it gets a lil warm when sitting and running like as the drive thru. He said I should do the Taurus fan upgrade? I've never heard of it. Anyone running it? Does it help at all?

Do a search. There are a lot of forums on it. I guess it's one of the fastest oem fans available.

Side note* how'd you wire your Efan to the switch? I've been looking but cannot find anything reliable to save my life.

I went to the power line and just spliced in another wire and soldered it right after the connector, then i ran it to the switch and ran the power line to a fuse box I put under the dash.

Alright cool. Do you remember Which wire was the power wire on the fan connector? What size fuse and wire did you use?

Also, I know this is going to sound REALLY stupid, but how did you splice into the wire? Stripped woke coating abs wrapped the switch wire around the fan wire and soldered? That's how I do it, but I've never really been taught how so I'm not sure if it's correct.

I appreciate your help!

i have one of these taurus fans, that push alot of air, i was going to do the manual fan to tarus fan but i didnt wanna start relocating pullies and etc. i might go with DirtBounds triple electric fan set up, it may be a bit pricey but worth it in cooling power...

The ford taurus fans move the most CFMs. I would love to have them for my truck.

AoA knows my temp woes.

Yeah I just seperated the wire coating away left all the wire intact made an o in the power wire of the fan and feed it threw then wrapped the wire for switch around. And the fuse I believe I ran a 15 and the wire was green. I also ran an inline fuse to the switch so if the computer tries to turn on the fan it wont fry my switch. A little over protestant yes but oh well.

the budget build sticky says...

4. Ford Electric Fan ('90-95 3.8L Taurus, '87-93 5.0L Mustang) = replaces mechanical fan, more cooling (8C607)
