I saw this one posted on XJTalk awhile back. Best combination of sub box and storage box I've ever seen. If you build one, make sure the sub box's volume is appropriate for your sub--sooooo many people make the mistake of putting their sub into an enclosure that is not the right size. http://www.xjtalk.com/showthread.php?p=162384

Am I the only one who caught the "with storage" part of the OP?
Do not buy from that guy. He took MONTHS just to get it in the mail to me, and every time I contacted him, he had a new excuse. Eventually it was done, but he just hadn't gotten around to shipping it yet (that stage of the game lasted at least a week). I had asked him before I ordered if its volume would be appropriate for my sub which requires a sealed enclosure of 1 cu ft. He said yes. I measured. His box was like 0.3 cu ft--either he lied to me or he doesn't know the volume of his own product, and either possibility is totally unacceptable. It also arrived damaged and without any mounting instructions. He agreed to mail me new pieces to replace the damaged ones as well as the mounting instructions. Again, that took forever, and he always had an excuse for why he hadn't done it yet or how he had it all packaged and just hadn't shipped it yet.
In the end, I never got the replacement pieces, and I don't care too much since the damaged pieces are simply cosmetic, and I won't be using the box anyway since it's not even close to big enough for my sub. Hopefully I can sell it off to someone who can make use of it and recoup some of my money. The enclosure I'm actually using came from a local audio shop that I had fab me a 1 cu ft cubby enclosure out of fiberglass--not even that much more expensive than what that XJ's~For~Life guy charges for his.
P.S. This all occurred just last fall.
Order placed on 7/16.
"Going out soon" on 7/27.
"Shipping soon" on 8/19.
"Within a week no more than two" on 9/3.
"Shipping this week" on 9/24.
"It's sitting in my shop boxed up ready to go to ups. I'll have your number no later than two days." on 10/2.
"No more than a couple days" on 10/7.
"Will ship tonight or tomorrow" on 10/14.
"I'll have you the tracking number by tonight" on 10/16. Finally, 3 months after my order and 2.5 months after "Going out soon" it was on its way to me.
If your lazy like me you can buy one https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f10/xj...y-10-a-120210/

Mine is nice and quite for the body panels and delivers a nice interior vibration while not annoying people outside. My cargo box is 3/4 mdf and I put in some stuffing to trick the sub into thinking it had more space. That guy that made his own here sold them for way to much and took more space than many would want, subthump was just $115, sits flush to the panel and I have nothing but good to say about it. I have a picture of mine in my pictures but can't post it while I'm on the mobile app.

Sub thump is only about 0.25 cu ft which is too small for many subs especially 10+". Gotta be careful about making sue sub and enclosure are compatible. Can't stress that enough.

I'm running a Boss Diablo 10" with some stuffing inside for the past 3 years with no issues and great sound. I was concerned about the cu ft but many shallow 10" subs only need around .30 to work right.

I bought the steel storage box that fits that area, lockable with a flush mounted latch/lock. Bolts to the rear and floor they are high quality box's with metal work did in a shop as well as welding.
Its a nice place to keep things locked up with a lot of room inside I do keep quite a lot of ammo in it, about 3,000 rds for the firearms I carry in the XJ.
He is in the fabrication area here and sells them. Had mine for maybe 2 yrs now.

Right, there are subs that work, and polyfill can help you "fake" about a 10% increase in space as well. I was just stressing it so much because so many people don't know that enclosure type and volume are very important, and I don't want people making the mistake of tossing any old 10" sub that needs 0.5+ cu ft into a Subthump or something.

Just checked subthumps website, they state the box is .32 cu ft, so maybe my sub was .40 to run right.
