Started off with a 2 door 93' 4.0L when I was 16 and beat the crap out of it until we had to junk it. That point on, all I can think about is getting a new one, lifting it, big tires the whole shabam.

When I turned 19 bought a 98' 4 door with 4.0L. I dont have pics of it stock but heres one of it now. Put a lift, slapped some 33's and wheeled it pretty hard. about 2 weeks ago I broke a track bar mount on it so I was on search for a axle and came across another XJ. This one is a 99,4door, 4.0L

So this weekend im going to pick it up. I can tell you I have a million ideas flying through my head right now lol.

Just wanting to share my story, and hopefully ill start a build thread shortly.

your kinda like a friend of mine but he buys corvettes and jeeps...every time i see him he has another corvette or jeep..he newest purchase is a 97 corvette

 

wow...the 99 is sweet & clean. not to say that u're 98 isn't. they both look good. i'm jealous.

 

WOW! Got to say Im not the BIGGEST fan of the 97-99 but these Trucks are very tight and clean. Someones gonna have some fun muddin'.

I'm definently diggin both Jeeps I have a 98 4dr same blue color same Jeep if that's a sport. Second Jeep looks garage kept like it was the owners baby. Nice find how much? How do you like those bushwacker flares I was 2nd guessin them cause they sit on rear door & are 2 piece? Looks good can almost see what mine is gonna look after lift this year.

and its the same color, I just couldn't resist.

yeah I plan on keeping the 99 as a dd, and just do some work on the 98 and make it a nice toy,

first plan is to strip the lift and get a long arm.Lift is still is good shape.

 

I think 97-99 is a great year, nice looks,, and the fact that it comes with chrysler 8.25 29 spline and still has the HPdana 30 up front

 

i like the bushwackers, nice opening I can easily stuff 33's, i bet 35's will fit no problem.

And yes the rear is a two peice for 4doors, its very simply to put on,,, im sure you can find a write up somewhere
