My first thread, but not the point jaja.

I know a least some of you have upgraded from the stock sound systems in your jeeps. How bad did they look, and sound?

I'm asking, because mine looked horrible, but actually played music! Horrible sounding or not jajaa. I doubt I have the worst either.

 

mine didnt look too bad, but sounded terrible:

 

I don't have a picture,but when I took the ones out of my lift gate they decentigrated they where so bad.I don't even know if they worked didn't have a stereo in it.

 

Same thing when I pulled my dads out. They sounded like laptop speakers and had about as much of a cone on them as laptop speakers have by the time I pulled them. My front stockers still work. And because I am not a sound junky I think those are just fine.

 

mine had one rip and some mud on em when i changed out (left door open when in reverse bc i was stuck and couldnt see )

Seems to be all years. Guess you can't really complain much after time and knowing what the vehicles are.

Did everyone take out the secondary speakers in the lower dash? They might still be chugging! haha

only came in jeeps with the premium sound or limited edition...or at least thats all ive saw them in, most didnt have them

 

Premium sound,
I know my Laredo has them. Haven't looked inside most other Cherokees. Yank them if you got them, lower corner of the dash both sides.

How it's a premium sound package, yet they look very cheaply built. I am impressed my stock ones still pumped out music though.

 

oh i hear ya, "premium" sound lol

 

they are tweeters, and mine still work. After 19 years. the rest of the speakers
disintegrated! They where originally Jensens.
