Wiring harness colors
I want to add rear hatch speakers and a rear cargo light to my 94 SE.
If I understand correctly all the Cherokees were made with a standard harness that may include the rear speaker wires for my vehicle.
The vehicle did come with a radio that has controls for rear speakers (fade) but it was not equipped with the speakers.
Also, If I understand correctly some of the 94 SE models did come with a rear cargo light although mine was not so equipped.
Does anyone know where the speaker and rear cargo light wires are located and what their color codes may be?

Take right rear access panel off. On my 99, there was the connector which plugged right in to the wiring harness for the rear speakers I just had gotten from the junk yard. I think it was 2 prong and zipped tied . It was easy to see.

http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...tail/1210.html, I have a '95 and this is the site I found. The colors have proved to be accurate as well.

The speakers and cargo lights were all in the same harness coming from the rear drivers side panel. There were six wires total in my harness in that right rear panel. Two speakers and one cargo light.

Thanks Clliffy! I presume that means 4 speaker wires and a positive and a negative for the light? Or does the light use a chassis ground in the body? If so what would the 6th wire be for?
One more question. Were they in a harness connector or were they separate individual wires?

It was two wires to the light not a chassis ground. On mine there was one harness in the rear panel that went to the tail lights and then up to the speakers and light. There were plugs on the harness coming back to that point and then the individual devices each had their own plugs as well then each was connected at the device, crimp on style to the speakers and if memory serves correctly the light had one too but don't hold me to that.
