yeah, get rid of the front suspension and pray you don't get into any accidents. parts won't be in junkyards for a while...

Does anyone use a Compass or Patriot for offroad at all? I think they are mostly just for street driving.

Well I've never seen one. Mostly Just tacomas wranglers f150s/rangers and 1500s. Occasionally see a cherokee. I have never seen a toyota fj, samurai, grand cherokee (other than mine), liberty/compass/commander/etc.

4wd is far from a 4x4. it's be like saying a Subaru is a 4x4. It's not, it just has 4wd. IFS makes for a better ride, but I'll take a solid front any day.
