Still Rubbing
#16
So, bit of an update, and a question. I had to remove my spacers, due to ignorance and forgetting to keep them tight and almost losing a wheel.. heh. My question is, should I adjust the steering stops to prevent rubbing at full turn?
I came across this: http://liftyourxj.com/tweaks.html#SteeringStops and I never adjusted them when adding my 33x12.50s. Could it help?

Did you extend the bump stops in the front? And yes adjusting the steering stops may help.
Looking at your jeep you seem fine in the rim backspacing department. I would leave the wheels as they are. Just extend the front bump stops and adjust your steering stops. Call it a job well done!

Yeah most steel wheels come in a variety of b.s. I dont know enough to tell you what those are from looking at them? If it were me I would pick up a different set of wheels before limiting the turning, not being rude but plaine steel wheels like that are not really expensive. I have seen alot of them around 80 a piece new and I think 4 wheel parts is running a special right now where its buy 3 get one free and I think maybe even free shipping. You could probably get by with that tire for the spare and buy a new set with the proper back space.
OK, thanks! I'll look into new rims after my lift. Thanks!

Silly question, but does adjusting the bump stops affect the steering and turning? I thought it was mainly for flexing and the like? I'll tweak the steering for the time being, either until I figure this out or get new rims. Thanks

Any other rubbing can be helped with extending your bumps.
