Hey Everyone!

I own a 1993 Xj and I'm working on my suspension. I just bought the Rough Country 87317N2 Steering Stabilizer. Do I need two or just one? The reason why I ask this is because in the video that Bleepin Jeep posted about installing the steering stabilizer there were two of them. I'm a bit confused as to why Rough Country wouldn't sell a set of them if that's what's needed. Trying to get this answered before I dish out some more money to order another one.

You only need one unless you have big tires and do hardcore offroading

As in death wobble? Rarely does a stabilizer cause death wobble. It only masks it. You need to get it fixed properly. Check the trackbar bolts, all bushings, and tie rods/ ball joints

A lot of use don't run a Steering Stabilizer at all,If you feel you need one then one is enough and on brands any oem grade one is fine.

 

What's the benefit of not running one?

 

If you wheel a lot then chances are you'll go to a stronger steering with newer and bigger tie rods. Most kits don't come with a stabilizer mount on the rod without charging more and the stronger steering shouldn't need it. It's just one less thing and costs more to install on 1-ton steering kits.

 

Its more of on road use once you go hardcore off road its just something else to break or get in your way.I never run them because it can mask steering problems and even death wobble in its early stage.
