things with coolant so i know its not that either. Idk it might just be mold/musty crap in the vents, because when i look in the vents I see like black crap in there, (well it could be any color its dark in there so it looks black)Quote:
OH! I thought that was the vent for when your using your heater to like heat it up in the winter and stuff hahaOriginally Posted by hudfabxj
the cowl.......the little vents on the outside of your jeep, right in front of your windsheild. that is where your jeep draws air for the heat and air.

could be mud burning on your exhaust, or maybe bad valve seals, interior could be wet moldy underpad under your somewhat dry carpet.

Using a disinfectant in the vents and cowl is a great idea. At the shop I work at we sell a vent service. We lift the car up and have a can of disinfectant that shoots foam up into the evaporator through the drain tube. Helps a lot. Then we have another can we spray in all the vents....cowl and even into the blower motor if accessible. Smells strong for awhile. Did it to the jeep when I replaced my a/c compressor and it worked great. No smell now.

In the shop where I used to work we would put a tray under the front seat filled with powdered Tide detergent. After a week of sitting out in the parking lot sun, it would smell like fresh laundry inside and the powder would be a solid mass we would toss out.
