Hey guys I found a jeep 1995 Cherokee country on craigslist. Everything works but the ENGINE. I was going to offer the guy $500.00 for it, you think i should buy it?

Hes asking pretty high for a xj without a motor... Especially since its a 2.5. Not to mention that a 2.5 w/3.07 gears, 31s and a 5spd would be pretty slow (or so Ive heard).. I would save your money and keep an eye on craigslist for a nice one with a WORKING 4.0. If youre lucky you may find a nice 4.0 cherokee for about 700 bucks (his asking price)....

depends on what you can get a good/running engne for, and if youre putting it in yourself of paying someone to do it...
Also, depends on what you want to use it for, like I said the 2.5 is said to be kinda underpowered for a lift and bigger than stock tires. I dont know how good it would be in 4wd...

how do you figure it has a 2.5 litre in it? it has a 2.5" lift w/ 31's if thats what your referring to. besides that i would say find one that has a working motor in it hes asking way too much. offer him $300 no sweat off your back if you dont get it theres xj's everywhere

Yeah, unless you know where to get a motor for it for cheap. Around here a motor on craigslist usually goes for about 600 with low miles. 300 jeep+600 motor would still be cheaper than the 1200 I paid for my rusty, knocking, howling POS lol..

Id pry wait, and keep an eye on craigslist for a good cherokee with 4.0 and low miles if you can. Mine was 1200, with 204,000 miles on it, but they usually go for about 3000 around here, regardless of condition...
If youve seen cheap ones with running motors around, then I would definately wait..
