A stock ZJ will go anywhere a stock XJ will go, it will just go there in more of a quieter and more comfortable way.

the last link ($4000 for the 99) has 148K miles
All tie rods and ball joints are torn, and this one also has a squeaky belt. Everything else looks pretty good, haven't driven it yet, but motor doesn't tick on cold start up.

The guy is pretty firm at 4K, I think 3500 would be the lowest I could get him and probably not even that, probably 37-3800. Overall I like this one much better, but too much money for what it is if you ask me...

It was a steal because they are junk. Where I live you can pick up late model Grands for about a grand. And it's still a waste of money. There is only one Cherokee worth owning, and that's the trusty XJ.

Stroker, I am going to also advise against this Jeep. While any XJ is better than a Grand, the last few years were unfortunately not Jeep's best. Seems like the motors wear out faster, hard to say why. Also you pay more for them.
I had a 2000 and I greatly prefer my 1990 with 212k. You should buy something like this http://eugene.craigslist.org/cto/2905760419.html

I have a 1993 that is very straight and clean, all stock never been offroad, for $2500. But it's in SoCal...I would deliver if you want it.

It's in the For Sale section. New head gasket, 5spd, 273k.
