Shifting to 4X4 low
Hey guys, when I shift to 4X4 low is a light expose to come up on my dash to let me know its activated? I followed the owners manual for shifting and there wasn't a light on my dash. Also a side question, is part-time 4X4 best for snow or is full-time 4X4 the best? Thanks

Yes, the a part time light is "supoosed" to come on for 4 Low, but I have never seen an XJ with working indicators. The plug or switch typically go bad.
Which mode depends on how you are driving, what the snow is like, etc. If there's ice, compacted snow, or pavement, use Full Time. Part Time you can use if there's a ton of snow or you're experiencing wheel slip, but it will cause understeering on curves and binding on dry surfaces.

Oh okay that makes a lot of sense now, when I shifted into 4X4 low that part time light came on. I was expecting a light saying "Low" to appear. Thanks for the responses.
