I just had a 3" RC lift installed. The shop that installed it wants me to drive it for a few days before I get an alignment. Does that sound right?

nope, get it aligned now.
when you lift it, your front wheels will toe-in to the point where you'll chew your front tires bald in no time.
not to mention, you'll probably get death wobble that will destroy your bushings.

it wont hurt to wait. a few days will not chew up your tires unless you drive hundreds of miles. the shop guy seems to know his stuff cuz springs settle after a few trips and that can throw off your toe-in. for example, and i just measured yesterday, my toe in was 1/8" when i got new springs and aligned it. now its 1/16 toe out cuz the springs settled some. 3 inches won't throw off your toe as much as a 6 incher would so you can get by for a few days.
if you are **** about your rig then take out a tape measure and get your toe in to 1/8 for now and then have it aligned professionally a few days later. it takes about 10 min to change your toe.

It's for a TJ but the front end is pretty much the same, except his tie rod is different than ours but it adjusts the same way.
(spray down the tie rod threaded ends with PB ahead of time)I used this method of aligning for years and never had any toe issues or uneven wearing tires. Saves $60
