It's a good thing you're not planning to sell it. Ever.
Lowrange, why does it say you are a junior member? I've wondered for a while

First, the bank won't give the loan .... and if they do, its not likely the guy will actually buy it.

But, if it actually happenes and you get $7k for your Jeep, do it.

You can build a really nice Jeep, for $7k, but that money will go FAST FAST FAST .... and you might want to re-consider your build a bit.

Personally, I'd do the following:

99 XJ with low miles and no rust: $3,500
Complete long arm 5.5" RE kit: $2,000
Used 33" tires/rims: $700
Gears: $400
Heavy duty steering (Currie is nice) $300
SYE: $350

Now you are out of money, but you still need rock sliders, skid plates, bumpers, lockers, a trans cooler and more.

Ideally, you can find good deals on quality used parts .... that saves a LOT of money, but also takes time and patience to find the right stuff.

First of all, the bank WILL give him a loan if he is creditworthy, but not an auto loan. Industry standard is no older than 7 years. What they can do is give him a personal loan, which means he'll be paying more interest, and overall is a fool for spending that much on an XJ, LOL.

OP, considering you didn't really build this rig from the start, if I were in your position I would sell it. For my personal rig, I'm building it from a stocker, rust-riddled XJ in the salt belt. I would say no if somebody offered me that price to sell it, because for one I take pride in all the work I've done and also don't want to have to start all over again with another XJ. For me, money isn't everything.

I can't wait until you buy a Jeep and start a build thread. Please do it soon.

I think my first question would be why he'd even buy an XJ that needs a rebuild...

Why not? Don't you find the Cherokees might be worth saving?

My concerns are this..

-8 " lift with 1" spacer and block

Also, JKS doesn't make double shear track bars, do they? You'd need one for that amount of lift..and you also forgot steering upgrades, which you would need for any sort of wheeling with those 35s..

He'd also need some sort of enormous training wheels at 9" of lift and 35's on stock width axles.
