Seat Height
Does anyone else feel as if the factory seats in an XJ are a bit high in height?
I am used to the feeling now but when I first purchased mine I felt like I was being squished against the headliner. If I am transporting a passenger I usually see them lower their head, especially a bigger set person.
I was wondering if anyone feels this way and if anyone has made or modified their own seat brackets to accommodate a lower seat position.

Yes it's low for sure I'm 6' 4" and 350# leg room a bit short also. I have to recline the seat for my head to clear the headliner. I'm have always been big played collage football at 325# and HS at 290# freshman year. Bad part the muscle has been replaced in a lot of places with fat over the last 40 yrs. lol.
I have considered moving the seat back a ways and lowering it a little so my knee isn't against the console all the time and can keep the seat in a more upright position. But have gotten so used to it over the last 4 yrs, it's not a priority like it used to be.
My 2004 WJ on the other hand is very comfortable all around and it is as comfortable as my 13 Town Car for trips and we tow it behind our motorhome when we travel. Best tow rig we have ever had over the last 25 yrs for that.

Yep, at 6'0" and almost 250lbs I feel tight. My seat is all the way down, back, and slightly reclined and I feel like I have just enough leg room. My head touches the ceiling but I have an aftermarket sunroof so I lose a couple inches there. If I sit up straight I'm looking out of the top of the windshield.
I would like to cut some out of the brackets to get some room back.
