Seat Compatibility between years?
Relative newbie here... I have a 93 Cherokee that was rear ended Tuesday night... most sad, really.
However, I bent the drivers seat when it happened... and I may want to replace the seat if the XJ isn't totaled (which, as I dig deeper looks more and more likely). I noticed that the newer XJs had different seat mounting brackets... are the seats still the same basic thing? Or are the brackets and seats different?
BTW, the guy hit me on the left tail light, destroying the tail light assembly, smashing in the quarter panel, crunching the tail gate and bending the drivers seat... I have since found signs the the tail gate opening is bent.
Thanks in advance!!

that includes both the seat to the bracket and the bracket to the floor, right? I saw where the floor was seriously revised... no longer did the seat bolt flat, had a cross rib (seriously needed, from my estimation!).
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

99 seats in my 94. A piece of GOOD STRONG angle bolted to the front mounting holes on the seat the. Bolted down to the factory studs in the front then drilled hold in the rear and bolted them down. I love it. They sit a little bit higher but it kinda gives the interior an updated look. They look way better in person than in these pics

This is perfect!!!
The more and more I dig into it, the more likely it will be a total... So far, I am guestimating $2500+ to fix this poor thing... sniff...
On a XJ worth about $2k, on a good day.

DieselD - if I didn't have 2 project Corvette's already, I would... but I don't have space or time right now.
I would, tho, recommend to anyone they should get a Cherokee. It proved to be a GREAT little truck and did all we ever wanted it to do. It ran great, the engine was bulletproof, smooth and powerful. The trans shifted perfectly and the climate controls were excellent.
Just a winner!!! And there is a chance that what we paid for it 6 years ago will be about the same as we get for the poor thing from the insurance settlement. Amazing.
