I did it on a 60000 mile car. Half a can through brake booster the other half in gas. Didn't put it in the oil. If you have a high mileage jeep, I would advise against it. It may shake loose carbon that is helping your engine an you may develop knocks and or ticks

Don't agree. My jeep has a quarter of a million miles on it, and I just started seafoaming mine about six months ago. Did small amounts at first into the crank case, did the throttle body spray treatment, then did a bottle or so in a few tanks of gas. Better throttle response from the TB treatment, injectors cleaned thoroughly from that and the gas treatment, and the crankcase and engine is twice as clean after running it in there in small amounts continually. It won't make your jeep fall apart because the carbon is gone. Mileage on your XJ doesn't matter. My seals have never leaked, and after seafoaming routinely over the last six months (Every two months I treat it) and they still don't leak at all. As far as the knocks? Very very very unlikely. My XJ has always sounded like a diesel with the lifters, doesn't sound different in that aspect afterwards. (Partly my fault, I run a 5w-30 full synthetic oil. Less thick and viscous.)

i've never used the product before till i go an XJ. i have 217K on it and the Rig seems to drive better all around after a few treatments. i use in gas and in crank case. i change the oil every 1500 to 2000 miles just to keep that old motor alive. i also use Restore upper cylinder lubricant at every change. so far she's never let me down and runs like a champ

It is good stuff, I use it. Per the prevailing wisdom on this forum I do not put any in the oil. I do periodically run it in the brake booster and added to the gas, which has kept my XJ running clean.

Why don't you put it in the crankcase like 100mi before a change?

It helped my engine, and the engine on my dad's F250, here's a link to a site where they have really good instructions on how to do it- http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/genera...-your-car.html
And to whoever originally pointed it out to me, thanks.

Because there have been some on this forum and others I have spoken to, who indicate it may create problems with leaking, by dislodging a build-up around the seal. Frankly, I have no way of verifying it, but I figure why take a chance.

Id rather have to change a leaking gasket than keep a bunch of crap built up in there....but hey, thats just me.
