Default Scrape Plates and U

Ok so I have noticed in alot of you guys pics that you either dont have or have taken off your scrape plates. Im not sure if that is purpose or if they just didnt come with them. Mine came with both engine as well as gas tank. I have left them on and see no interfearence with the suspension travel, if anything it helps hide it so it doesnt get bashed. What are your guys takes on them? Hinderence or helpfull?

They front steering skid is great for a low lift once you lift too much it interferes with steering. Most people run a T-case skid or belly skid. Most people should run a gas tank skid.

I have all skids on mine still. VERY helpful for a 3in lift.

factory skid plates were an option that most people never chose to buy. its pretty rare to see them out this way.

No they werent, it was just an factory option you could get. Some trim levels did come standard with them but could get them on any trim.

My 95 Sport parts jeep had all skids but I never swapped them over. Front is pointless at 4.5", tcase gets bent up too easy and too much work for me to install the gas skid. I'm just gonna sell them and build my own

I took my front skid off because it looks like hell and it was messing up my approach angle on some climbs at my local park...

Let me rephrase that, it came with the up-country pkg. And yes, you could get any option you wanted when ordered, Despite the trim level. My '91 has options added to it, Above being a limited. (like the winter pkg. group, Added insulation, and 130 Amp. alternator. Or the 6 speaker premium sound system, for example)
