Default Rugged Ridge XJ/TJ flares

I'm exploring my options for my 99 cherokee on 35s. Bushwackers are gonna cost me upwards of 400 and that is a lot of money, so i've been trying to find an alternative..

These flares say "modification required". Anyone out there have these and can explain what it took to make them work on their XJ?

I think the rears are what have to be modified if I remember correctly. You have to cut it in half or something along those lines. I have seen some people that take their time and do it right and they look great, others not so much.
I have seen some write ups of people doing them on other forums but I can't for the life of me find any links to them right now.
Though, if I was going to go this route. I would buy from Ron:

He is a vendor, contact him and he should hook you up with an additional forum discount.

Don't worry with Iceland. They take FOREVER to ship and well you have to do a retarded amount of work to make them work and look good.
Mike with TNT Customs here in Cheyenne has them on his Cherokee and he had a body man put them on from my understanding and when it was all said and done, he mid as well should have just had the guy make em himself.
Don't get em wrong, they look like what our flares should have looked like off the assembly line, he just said they are a pain in the ***.
Only ones I can really think of are the same you mentioned. I've been thinking about the BW flat flares but since I don't live in a state that gives a **** about that, I am not going to worry with it for the time being.

Those iceland flares are purty tho.... wish i didnt have to worry about flares, they look cool and all but i mainly need them to keep the fuzz off my rig just a lot of money. I have detachable mudflaps right now and theyre buttugly.

Hoping for an affordable option, without a s**t ton of work. call me lazy if you will

HaHa, I feel ya man. I tell my wife we cannot get a stationed in a state with crazy laws like Cali. and East coast states have.
I think for the best outcome the flares you mentioned originally are going to be your best bet as far as not being to expensive, not alot of extra work, and still going to look good.
It really is hard to go back to flares after being flareless that is for sure, it just looks so damn good without em.
Best of luck.
