Default Roof rack or light bar?

Well right now i have a surco roof rack with a YJ tire carier mounted to it so i can keep my spare up top, also have my hi-lift mounted on it.

i recently took it off so i could re-paint it.

im thinking about just selling the rack and using the orginal roof rack bars to build a light bar from the money i sell the rack.

if i do this i wouldn't have my high lift on my jeep at all times and also no spare.

Sooo tell me your guys opinion on it

Thanks

heres some pics
with it

Id keep the rack, I turned my stock roof rack rail into a light bar before I had my basket rack and at the time I thought it lookd good but now since the basket is on it looks alot better and being able to carry a spare up there and hijack when the weather is nice is great. And its alot more stronger to mount the lights on then the stock rails

Yes x2^. I have a surco rack too and don't want to spend $30 or whatever on surco brackets. What have other people used to mount lights on them?

You could always do something like Detours rear tire carrier if you didn't want the basket up top. It'll also give you rear recovery points and such.

Yeah I like the tire on the back too.
How hard is it to mount the high lift on the hood?

Can't see it being to hard to mount on the hood just gotta get long enough bolts go go through it. Just think about easy access to it though that's why I've got mine mounted on my rack
