Default Roof Rack Help

I just recently got a roof rack and want to put some stuff up there, but I live in San Antonio so I need to lock up whatever I decide to throw up there.
So I was just curious what you guys might use to lock stuff down and where I could possibly get it.
Thanks!
-Nate

You can use trailer lock pins. You can also use cable gun locks. Stud with locking wheel nut. Weld a pin to the rack then drill a hole through one end and attach small lock. Or you can run a long cable lock through everything. Many options!

Hope this helps.

Cubfan: haha you might wanna take some notes from this if you plan on getting a roof rack because I wouldn't trust anything sitting out in Houston either.

Thank you stitch that definitely helps, those are great ideas.
I've also seen sort of clips that hold things like mag lights or stuff like that on the interior of the truck. Do you know anything about that? Or where to get those because I have not seen them anywhere.

That sounds pretty sick, but I got the rack for my birthday so I can't exactly sell it and just get a different one so I'm just making do with what I have.

oh, well, locks are only to keep the honest people honest, so a simple cable with loops and a padlock should suffice.

Use a 100 lbs. dog tie-out cable (come in various lengths for about $5, Fleet Farm) and a lock. just cut the clasps off.

Gotta remember if they want what you have bad enough they'll try any way to get it. So, if your protecting a $20 dollar shovel and they can't break the lock then they'll cut the rack or steal the rack or even the vehicle.

Locks keep people honest. But, they won't protect from the guy walking around with the bolt cutters or cordless reciprocating saw.

Per your question about "Quick Fist" like them! like the idea of them! But you still need locks. Not sure if I'd hang a Highlift from them. You can pick them up online.

Do a google search and view pic's of "roof rack tool mounts".

Attached are a few pic's from my rack.

Good luck!

Yeah I know, I'm not expecting it to hold up against everything, just make it to where someone can't just walk up and ****** while I'm in a store for 10 minutes.

And the "Quick Fists?" I'm looking to put on the inside to mount my maglite and bat and stuff like that.

Thanks for the pics those are great but what kind of locks are those?? Just regular cable locks? Sorry if these are dumb questions just trying to figure out the easiest way to do this and where to pick it up.
