Default Removing stripes

Is there an easy way to remove painted on stripes that are over clear coat? I've read where oven cleaner used carefully is effective.

i would say if they are painted on over the clear, 2000 grid wet sand paper should take care of it.

Go to Orielly's auto parts and buy "Decal and Vinyl Adhesive Remover" by the brand "Aircraft". Took me 20 mins to get my strips off my 94 Country. Spray the stuff on, let it sit five minutes, then wipe it all off with a paper towel. That easy.

Heat gun on paint? They're not vinyl decals that will peel off. I have a green stripe running down both sides at door handle height, that also wraps around the tail gate. The jeep itself is stone white I believe. I brought up ther oven cleaner because I've seen on other forums where it's used to remove pin stripes and racing stripes without harming the clear coat, if used carefully. The stripe is about 3"wide. I just feel like sanding it off would take for frigging ever.

So the pin stripe is painted on and not a sticker? If its painted on ur gonna have to sand it, if its a sticker a heat gun, or they sell this wheel thing u can attach to a power drill that works pretty good to take pin stripe off

Tried some cleaner on an inconspicuous spot. Didn't do anything. Thinking I may just paint the stripe black now

The stripe was painted on at a shop I'm assuming, it was a national park ranger cruiser at mt vernon nat'l park. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to paint over it now. The british racing green of the stripe just doesn't look good at all.
