Default Removing sticker residue & bringing back the shine

I used one of those decal erase wheels that go in a drill to take off the white stripe down the side of my XJ, and to remove the adhesive strip left behind from taking off the side molding. It's really visible where the white strip was... what can I use to make it go away?

I've seen XJ's where people have done the same, but don't see the lines of where things used to be...

Also, what would be the best way to bring back the shine in my paint? It's a 97 but the paint just looks... dull and all sorts of drip lines and scratches. Is a good cleaning then wax job my best bet?

When I removed my side molding, I took a razor to most if it, then I used bug & tar remover made by turtle wax, stuff works great. Can't tell I ever had the side moldings. As for the paint, not sure. Pressure wash it, then wash, wax, & detail the heck out of it my only suggestion. Good luck!

x2 I used this method working in used cars to remove decals from other dealerships, stickers, and whatnot. Spray the adhesive with glass cleaner and use a razor to scrap it off. Hasn't failed me yet.

Alcohol works great. I removed the old tent on my windows with a scraper (razor) and used alcohol to remove the glue.

Isn't the OP asking about getting rid of the stripe where the stripes were? If so ... You really can't because the rest of the paint is faded.

When I took mine off I used a pressure washer with a straight stream with the tip like 4 inches away from the residue. With the remaining I used Goo-be-gone and the paint looked fine.
