Arrow Removing back window..... Thoughts

Thinking about taking the glass out of my back hatch. I recently removed the doors and was wanting better air flow. It's only a trail rig for me so not worries about DD in it. It's kept in a garage so I don't need to worry about security. Just was wanting to bounce the idea off a few others. If someone has done it I would love to see pics. Wondering how hard or if I need to worry about the wires from the defroster.

just separate the wires going to the defroster, and wrap some electrical tape around them so they don't touch. doesn't sound like a bad idea. I can imagine how much of a pain it would be if it broke on a trail or something. I say go for it!

Kinda what I was thinking. Just didn't know how big of a pain it would be to remove the glass. I guess just cut around the whole window

It's pretty easy to remove since they sometimes just fall out anyways.
Start on the inside folding the rubber over the lip. and it will pop out.

yup, just start in one corner from the inside till you have a bit done, then go outside and carefully pull it out.

i was thinking of making a metal frame with screen to the dimensions of the glass and put that in it's place. probably do it to all the rear windows.
we have lots of black flies here in may/june that will bite chunks out of you in no time. and with no a/c or carpet, it gets quite freakin hot in there.

Yes^^ There's a guy around here that did that cause of the mosquitoes. Looked good. He made a frame to go into the channel from Plexiglas and then used window screen.

I blew my back window out the last time I took it out. The only problem I had was it caused a vacuum with all the windows down and the dust would be sucked into the car and just stay it there. Just my experience.

Front doors are off and back windows down. Really a trail rig and I'm I was tired of how hot it got. Window came out fine too, just in case I ever want to put it back in.
