Default Radio isn't working..

So back when I was working on the lights on my gauge cluster, I blew the bulb fuse, replaced it and all was well. Well that night I noticed my radio wasn't working, same with my electric fan switch. Well the fan switch is hooked up with an add a fuse, which has a 10a and 15a on it. I plugged that into the radio fuse slot today and the fan powered up. I checked the fuse on the radio and it's fine. Could the radio have fried? I have another switch for LED blinking lights which also isn't turning on, but I'm more concerned about the radio.

Any ideas?

Could I have fried the radio without blowing a fuse?

Should I get another radio? I don't mind, I just want to be sure it'll fix it.

Cheers

So you checked the fuse in the back of the radio? Only way to tell if something has been damaged in the radio is to bypass it straight to the battery. All you'll need is the hot and ground to see if it'll turn on.. If it does, then try checking your grounds for your radio and make sure no wires have been crimped.

Yes sir. 15a in it, no damage. I didn't install this or any of the electrical, it was all the PO. Where do I find the hot and ground at?

Hot and ground should be the red and black wires running from the back of the radio, you'll just have to trace them back. If those arent the colors they are.. then you need to look up your radios by name and number (should be on the faceplate of the radio, like for example "pioneer DHP-4400 wiring diagram"). But 90% of the time its usually just the red and black wires. (which the ground could also be not in the harness that plugs into the back of the radio, but instead have its own screw off somewhere else on the back of the radio in which you connect your ground wire to. )

Thanks, I'll check it out! I only saw the red/white wires and the the harness when I was checking the fuse. Are they connected to the harness or are these separate wires? I could have overlooked them since I wasn't looking for them.

Also, a buddy told me most aftermarket radios have another fuse in the line that feeds the clock/memory. Might I have one of those and whereabouts could it be?

Now is that the harness coming from the back of the radio or your stock jeep harness you're talking about?

The one coming from the back of the radio.

This looks similar to what I saw:

I think I have one pair of red/white connections, then the harness connection, and my radio has a 15a fuse in it.

Ohhh the red and white connections are the RCA jacks that provide the audio for connecting amps and such. The red and black wires should be in the harness with all the other wires.

Oh OK, that's what I figured. So follow the harness and get the red and black wires and hook it straight to the battery?

Thanks!

So the radio still doesn't work. I pulled it out in hope to power it at home to see if it turns on. Still trying to figure out how to do that haha. I was wondering if I either bought a new radio or used this one if it works, can I rewire my radio completely? So let's assume the harness is shot, the ground is bad, all that. Can I rewire everything? I feel like that would fix my issue haha.

Test the harness. Red wire is constant power. Black is ground. Yellow is switched power.

I have not seen any on mention the yellow wire you need 12v ar both red and yellow wires.
