When I first baught my XJ it was lifted 2in. It cleared 33 x12.5 no problem. with the cut and fold in the rear. So all you would need is $50 shackles to get you by for now. After the front fender cut you could add a 2in spacer. I am not saying its ideal but since you are saying you wont be wheeling it much for now, you could fit your 33s with trimming and just shackles and spaceers for probably about $100.

if you trim, and have 4"- backspacing you can run 33X12.50's with no lift for around town driving with no rubbing. keep in mind if you try and wheel it, it's going to rub like crazy unless you bump stop it.

Edit- not only 33's, but 33x12.50's! Jeez man, what's your bs at? Stock rims?

Edit edit- pics

with stock ride height, 33's i dont think just a cut and fold in the rear will be enough to clear the 33's.

heres a pic of my jeep stock with 31's

2" bb, 3.75 bs wheels and some nice trimming will clear the 33s. if your up for the work you can take a good chunk outta the rear. much better than the standard cut and fold imo.
