alright alright I'm done messing with you junior

k so typical thread about 35" tires. what have we learned this time

you'll need to trim your fenders
stock rims will let your air down farther than aftermarket
we're all getting gears just as soon as we have the money
you don't have to worry about the axles holding up
35's on a stock jeep wont hurt anything. go for it
and then there was a pissing match

sounds about right. goodnight

Well I had to complete it or it wouldn't be a typical cf thread.

My brother has been wheeling for two years now on 35's with a d30 front and d35 rear. No problems.

Couple other wheeling buddies have stock xj axles/tranny on 36tsl's and 35 boggers.

If you are naive and try to 4whl in high range, then yea, you could hurt the tranny. But if you stay in low range you have nothing to worry about.

It's a good thing someone didn't offer this guy a deal on some 44's.

Other things....if you're running stock 3.55's with 35's, use 3rd instead of drive.

Typical thread, sure. But 35's are quite a commitment. I'm in the same sort of dilemma...Going 5.5" and bushwacker flats, 3.75 backspaced rims and 35's hopefully, but I want to get my wheels and tires before I even install the lift, so then I can measure for shocks properly.

Biggest thing I'd make sure of if I were you and going to proceed with getting these 35s...make sure it isn't your daily driver.

Im not saying that some get away with stock axles but my buddy with 33 on a tj with a locked d35c blew up his rearend the first time he went wheelin.
and you say its naive to wheel in 4hi? by going to 4lo you multiply your power to your drivellines by how ever much your ratio in the tcase is. add in the resistants of a big tire. just wondering what im missing here cause i wheel in the sand it 4hi and 2wd all the time and crawl around in 4low. I pull other rigs out in 4low also.

i love cf. one problem i forsee.. 35's on a stock rim. i have a friend that has 35's on a stock rim on 2 inches of lift. we had to remove the rear sway bar (most do that anyway) and they are still contacting the leaf springs. you will want spacers. and me running on 33's and stock gears. OD hits at 45 and it sucks lol

Problem is 35's will kill your power without gearing. And you will have very poor brakes.

I am running 33's and I hate the power loss and the brake loss.

I will be going to 4:88's when I can swing it.

But if you are not worried about power and brake loss right now then go for it. It won't hurt anything.
You addressed lower, but what is regearing gonna do to help braking power? Don't leave that out....

Calm down you two. Family friendly, no personal attacks or name calling necessary.
