Default Propane vs. Acetylne

I am not sure if this question belongs in fab or not.Sorry. I just purchased my first set of torches. I am running propane/oxy because i dont have a acety tank. I am having problems getting the flame just right is this possibly because of a tip designed for acety and not propane. Any recommondations would be great. I am going to get a acety bottle. But just do not have the funds as of right now.

Yes you need a different tip for propane I would suggest finding yourself an acetylene tank or your cuts will look like crap. Even with the right tip propane just doesnt cut right.

Acetelyne burns hotter than propane and cuts better as stated above me. I only use it but the down fall is its a little more pricey

Propane doesnt cut as hot as allready posted, but you dont use as much oxygen cutting with it. It is also safer then acyt.

Definately need different tip/hoses. Also make sure gauge is compatable.
