Propane
Ok so I was talking to a friend and he said that some people are using propane to recharge there A/C. Anyone ever heard of this? And is it actually colder?

propane r290 is used is some domestic conditioners instead of r134a or r22, with the only difference that it's a FLAMMABLE gas and is more dangerous in case of leak.
The other difference is that it's CHEAP, so for someone it's worth the risk.
Much better for refrigeration and ambiental issues would be natural gas, that has a higher efficiency.

Do you hear banjos?
So is anyone running LPG in there XJ?? This has been a long time thought of mine. I like the idea of it being cheaper, but don't know if it is worth the initial expense!! Thoughts...

if u buy the parts and mount it by your own like i did, u can manage the costs around 500$ and u spend the half in fuel.

How much do you really save, since it burn quicker?
And since it burns hotter does your jeep run hot?
Can't be healthy for your valves and pistons.
Very intresting though, I'm sure some vehicles would react differently in long turn use.

I have it since 2004 and it is working fine and no, it's not running hotter, in case u could always change the thermostat valve with a lower degree one.

the consumption is nowhere near double i have it installed on my 94 cherokee 4l ho and i get 15-17 mpg on lpg and about 18-19 on gas if someone is getting half then they have a problem it is very common in the uk because of the silly gas prices and makes it very cheap to run it does not burn hotter it burns more efficiently it is a cleaner fuel as there is less particals and in inproves the longevity of your engine you do however loss a tiny amount of power but in the 4l its hardly noticable

You probably have a multipoint gas-injected system that uses the information of the oxygen sensor to calculate the right amount of gas. I have a venturi mixer on the throttle body with a valve that regulates the flow from the reducer to the intake. I get 10-12mpg on lpg and 16-18mpg on gas and in Italy it's more common, UK buys the conversion kits from us cause we make 'em since 1930 and there are more than 20 different brands that produce them. I personally am a BRC and STARGAS installer, thinking of taking INCOM with liquid injected system, i also do CNG conversions.

cool you seem to know your stuff but if you get 12 on lpg and 18 on gas thats not really quite double the consumption lol i think you might agree if you where getting 8 mpg on lpg you might have a problem i have a venturi system also but dont really know that much about it to make an agument stick lol was i correct on the rest of my post as this was my understanding of it
then u have a stepper motor instead of the screw valve to calibrate the flow.
The reducer looks like a LANDI RENZO (good one) or a copy of it.
U have a high pressure leak on the upper water hose, see that brown rust and the green oxidation on the brass screws?
It's probably the o-ring under the 90° plastic junction.
Funny, u have the reducer in the same place where i have it, there's not much space in the bay.. did they make a spiral on the copper tube between the reducer and the safety valve?
Hope that bracket is not bolted on the shock absorber...
