Default Pretty bad cherokee problem, need some help

Hey guys how's it going, first off I'd like to say I love this forum and have been trolling it for a while.. The other day stupid me drove through a bit of a deep puddle(which turned out to be somewhat of a lake). And I flooded my truck pretty badly, the puddle was roughly 3 feet deep. Since then I had some water in the rear cylinder which was drained on extraction of the truck, I've done an oil change and also changed the tranny fluid. Basically my truck is running horribly, very rough idle, running super rich and occasionally stalling out.. But my main issue is the fact that my transmission is shifting improperly, when I put the pedal to the floor I'm shifting at around 2800-3000 rpms. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

Drain and flush ALL the fluids. That includes the tranmission.

All of the fluids have been changed as if yesterday, but I'm thinking its a sensor issue due to the fact of how rich she s running. It was so rich that the exhaust was burning my eyes. I'm just hoping someone who has had the same issue will chime in, and I still haven't had the truck to the shop to read the trouble codes yet(doing that after work today)

Haven't changed the plugs yet, I'll give that a shot after work. And the distributor was 100% water free when I opened it up.

Might need to clean or replace your o2 sensor(s).

That would cause the transmission to shift incorrectly? My buddy suggested to do that.

I swear to God if anyone ever invents a device that "reads" the depth of a mud hole/ water hole you're about to enter, they'll sell a million of em, providing they don't cost a fortune.

Kind of like a depth finder you use for fishing, except this would mount behind your grill or on the front bumper.

No, but it can make it seem like a transmission issue. If they're clogged you're running too rich or too lean and your Jeep is trying to compensate. The trans is computer controlled, if the computer is getting bad/wrong signals then it can cause shifting issues in an automatic.

This. Takes 2 seconds to get out and poke around. Beats the hell out of hydrolocking your ****.

That's what I do, use a branch to check depth. Used to do that while backpacking and having to ford a creek. Now, I do it if I am unsure of how bad it is.
