Why not control arm drops?

-->Huge rhino horns

-->"teeth" on bumper/steering skid

-->Mud flaps for sure (removable are ok though..)

-->Flares on any kind and stock tires

-->Big tires with stock tire as spare

-->Seeing a really built looking rig with stock steering components.

--> that bluish store bought tint that everyone ****s up.

-->Mirror finish tint.. Worse than bluish tint.

-->Fake hood vents.

-->Lift blocks, too! Good call..

bc if your running the right set up in the rear you won't even get close to hitting the frame with the axle or bottoming out the shock. i had mine totally flexed out in my driveway and i have about 8-10 inches left from the body and the shock had about an inch to spare and i am running 16.5 inch shocks instead of 15.5 so i have no reason for them. now if you were running coils in the back then yeah u better have them. heres a pic
and this one is before i had the shocks on

Counter point: that's your well set up rig. Not everyone's got the same set up. Some rely on bs's more.. Just a thought, ya know?

Well i don't see how thats possible, but i ran no bumpstops for a while and all i did was blow shocks constantly. Plus i dont know how big your tires are, but 35" baja claws are pricey, and cutting them up because the lack of a ten dollar part is just plain dumb

Is that pic of you just sitting at ride height?

Too each his own I guess. I try to cut weight where I can for various reasons (power/weight ratio, MPG, Mud/Snow).

I really don't think that throwing a 60-90lb tire on the backside of the roof is going to throw off your COG all that much more than mounting the same tire halfway up your window with all kinds of steel to support it. Considering most the weight in an XJ is fairly low (Untill you lift it) the impact is going to be minuscule either way.

While the tire would be easier to remove on the back, I would rather be able to see. I have had a rear tire carrier and I hated it. Glad you guys like yours!

you sir are very wrong.

I guess "the right setup" to you is a ton of lift, shocks mounted in the factory location on the axle hogging tons of ground clearance, tiny tires, narrow track width, and stiff springs.

On top of that, you must not wheel all that hard to not have any bottoming out going on.

How come everyone here hates snorkels? After I just nearly hydro locked my xj I'm thinking about getting one just for the sake of mind.. Most off road places around me is just mud holes and no rocks so it's good peace of mind for me.

God I wanna get my shock mounts flush with axle. Beyond function, it looks soo money!

Now, progressive bump stops. Aren't those supposed to allow or more droop? Ktm, I know you've got info on this!

I think most people just hate the tacky pvc snorkels. Id rock a nice, manufactured one if i had a more expedition oriented rig.

DIY cowl set up. Way slicker and just as functional. There's a really good write up on it.. I'm gonna look for it real quick..
