I dont care for tire-carrier bumpers. I have had them in the past and couldn't see anything with a 35" back there.

The conduit roof racks
Its practical if you rockcrawl, rockcrawl in large groups, live/wheel in areas that get hot in the summer.

Tire carrier bumper was one of my favorite mods. freed up a TON of space inside the jeep, and helped distribute the weight of the rig more evenly. (granted not a ton, but it helped)

I understand you can see more but live somewhere where it rains alot/has alot of mud/ gets below 0 and you will rethink it..

I would rather put the tire on the rear of the roof than anywhere else... hardly anything else goes up there.

Slightly higher center of gravity yes but you save like 100lbs in weight so I guess it depends on what your goals are.

Most of us who wheel have aftermarket/custom rear bumpers anyway. The tire carrier portion doesn't add too much weight. even so, thats weight in a place the xj could use it!

Don't have to tell me. Tire carrier bumper is on the list. I don't like the idea of blocking visibility out the back window, but I dislike the high center of gravity having it on the roof creates even more.

Just offset it to the drivers side so it doesn't block your rear view.

A 33" or 35" tire will still block most of the back window. That's what mirrors are for anyway.

Thats where mine was. didn't bother me at all. I thought about adding a small rearview mirror to the top right of the windshield to get a better view back there, but visibility was never too much of an issue for me to actually do it.
