I found that with the seat of the rear seat removed(pulls right out) and the upper part folded down. Front seats moved all the way forward. I have 6ft to lay down comfortably to sleep.
So back seat is down and out

Always got mine up.
Ya know whats funny...for as long as I've had my XJ (about a year now) I have not once sat in the back seat. I don't mean like trying to put or pull something in and havta be in the back seat to put it in. But I have never sat in the back and put a seat belt on haha.
I think I'm gonna try that tomorrow for a minute to see how it feels...

Mine are always up. The car-seat is a PITA to take out and put back in lol.
