i put the rear seat down in the spring when i was moving home from college and never put it back up. its also nice bc my sub box is full width and is wedged in place so it still separates the back seat from the cargo area. its flatter than leaving the seat up, strudier, and a little bigger. ill post picks this weekend
its also a 4 door, and i found this summer i dont need room for more than one person

Mines usually up, but the rear seats are still filled with crap from welding supplies, to parts (axle shafts and bushings lately), to clothing. I also like to keep it up cause it makes my sub sound better.

Mine is up most of the time. I keep a vast array of things underneath it: two bottle jacks, two tow straps, crowbar, jumper cables, AC adapter, air compressor and emergency towel. I have no idea how I managed to fit all that underneath it, but I did... and it's far easier to get at with the seat up.
Also, as someone else mentioned... the dogs ride there. I have tools, a floor jack and a box of auto fluids sitting in the back, and with the seats down the dogs would be mingling amongst the lithium grease and so forth, which is not a combination I'd be eager to experience.

Back seat is always up in my '97, makes it easier being a college student having all that space for books and stuff. My '91 on the other hand fits into the "what back seat" class

Most of the time in the summer it's up as I usually haul a couple fishing buddies around, or friends and family when they visit the park. In winter it's down because I need the room for winter/snow emergency gear. I keep a big kit box with winter supplies, tools, jump starter pack, recovery gear, food, blankets, water, Coleman lantern and stove, etc. I even carry a box of firewood. It might be overkill but I've got it all back there and have used some of it on many occasions.
