Well in the case of subs. Best thing for an xj would probably be only one 12. I have a 12 W7 and it is so damn loud. It's only on a 500/1 slash. But 2 10 alpine type x's would probably sound nice

They will be amped and someday I will have 2 12s to complement them. Also I plan to put 6.5 inch speakers in all six spots. What do you guys think? The dxis or type r's? Thanks

Yeah man 2 12's is alot for an xj haha. The good thing is that the XJ has a more open trunk, so it will sound better than a car. Hell I got one 10" in there and it does awesome. Two 10" would sound real nice. Plus your jeep won't be vibrating on the lowest volume. Plus with the amps your gonna get, it will be a really tight fit with 2 12"s

lol 2 12s sounds nice in a cherokee, you just lose most of your cargo space. unless your an audio junky like me them I would just go with one 12 if your wanting to keep your cargo space.

Yeah but the more subs you have the more air venting you will want to have for optimal sound. my 1 12W7 requires quite a decent amount of window opening for venting. it is also in a ported Super Bass Pro Box. btw, that box is very large. telling you, get like a used W6 12 or 13 from CL, just 1 and put it in a ported box. Then get a JL Audio Slash 500/1 used on CL also will run you less than both the type r subs together and boxem and your done. trust me JL has big bang for the buck. i have heard type r's before. they sound nice but i think JL's sound better than Alpines. also Focal and Hertz audio have extreamly nice car audio, a little pricey but they are worth the money in my opinion. i prefer the Hertz over the Focal but have heard both.
